My name is Kirk Offel, board member, and I am with The ALP (Ashleigh Langbein Project) Foundation which is a tax exempt and in process of becoming an 501(c)(3). My family has been doing the Bandera race each year since 2009-2010. My kids have been doing the 25k since they were 9 years old.
Now my boys (8th & 7th grades) are looking to do this race with ~10+ of their school friends to help raise money to support The ALP Foundation. We began training as a team two weeks ago and we should have a team of 10+ racers (kids and adults) in January. Some of us will be doing the 50k but most will be doing the 25k. We will begin registering in the next 2 weeks.
It is a great cause and it is great to see these middle school kids step up and take a leadership role in making a change in our community. Bandera is the best platform for this event. This race will raise money to help college students obtain their goals to be successful in life. The money that we raise from racing in this event will go directly towards two endowments at Emory and Henry College. The endowments are in the fields of Ashleigh’s Degree, Psychology and Theater Dept. ALP Foundation will continue to strive to continue Ashleigh’s work in future projects as she would have changed the world.
Packages to help the support the run are as follows:
Bronze package – $ 225.00 sponsors one runner – acknowledge of the support through means of ALP website.

My name is Paula Langbein, secretary and treasurer, of the Ashleigh Langbein Project (ALP). We are asking for your individual or corporate to help with a fundraising endeavor by some wonderful students at Lake Travis Middle School in support of our foundation.
The Bandera Run 25k/16.1 miles Benefiting the Ashleigh Langbein Project (ALP) is scheduled for January 6-7, 2018 in Bandera, Texas. All proceeds from this event will be used to support Ashleigh Langbein’s legacy at Emory and Henry College through multiple endowments in the fields of Psychology and Theater.
In January 2017, our beloved daughter’s life was taken at the age of 23 (9 days shy of her 24th birthday). It was her life and community that inspired us to start the ALP foundation (in process in becoming a 501(c)(3)) to share and remember her laughter, love, and compassion. ALP is a non-profit organization established in the memory of Ashleigh by enriching the lives of students obtaining higher education, and to continue Ashleigh’s work that would have impacted or changed the world (not our words).
The visions for the ALP include:
*The support and advancement of higher education.
*Collaborating with the community to shine a light on educational and personal topics important to Ashleigh (mental health, community action, the performing arts, etc).
*Future plans include establishing endowments to support and encourage post-graduate education at the Master’s level at Ashleigh’s chosen University’s (we have the list of schools she was considering), or at other Yellow Ribbon Colleges/University’s.
*Strengthen and empower individuals with leadership roles within communities.
The sponsorships vary in dollar amounts, with corresponding acknowledgement. Your company name/personal donations may appear on race t-shirts, internet advertising, or race signs. You may access Ashleigh’s story and the foundation at www.ashleighlangbeinproject.org . If you would like to sponsor ALP Bandera Run 25k please fill out the sponsorship form. Thank you in advance, if you have any question feel free to contact me at 843-364-8589.
Sincerely,
Russell Langbein, President
